Women Empowerment as an Effective Strategy By Mrs Ude Chinero

Updated: Nov 19, 2020

First of all, we need to understand what empowerment of women really means if we have to understand its impact. Empowerment is about being given authority and power to do something. Empowerment is about becoming stronger and confident. Empowerment again means to become aware of one’s rights and privileges. Empowerment also means the ability to control one’s life in a more meaningful and fulfilling way. One of the ways to enhance economic development in our country is to empower women, especially Igbo women. The neglect and discrimination of women in this area have enormously contributed to the poor economic development of the nation. In the past, Igbo women were not given the right to some economic pursuits and to this day, a greater number of them are still being denied of this right.

If we can change the life of one person it makes a whole difference because behind that one person there is a whole family. It’s a family, it’s a society, it’s Alaigbo. Igbo women are very proactive. We are strong women. We are great managers. We are great policymakers. We can be a great force for Africa. Support IGBO WOMEN MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE's Women Empowerment Charity Appeals Project, it is an intervention to potentially end the struggles that these hardworking Igbo women endure. Not only are we giving the women the opportunity to enhance their skills through training courses, but we are also to provide them with financial support so they can take all that they have learned back to their homes for sustainable livelihood, for both her and her family.

Donate now for the empowerment of Igbo women.
